também seus talentos a peregrinação, os maiores nomes
do Teatro Italiano do início do século, fizeram como várias
celebridades do Teatro Francês, longas viagens à América
do Sul. Clara Della Guardia, atriz de grande renome e dona de um vasto
repertório romântico, apresentou-se no Brasil em 1899, 1901,
1903, 1909 e em 1912, representando em italiano obras de Coelho Netto
e Arthur Azevedo, além de Sardou, Dumas Filho, Rostand e outros
escritores franceses. Tina Di Lorenzo, atriz de extraordinária
beleza e ilustre carreira internacional, apresentou-se no Brasil em 1906,
1908 e em 1913, sempre acompanhada de seu marido, o ator Armando Falconi
(1871-1954). Entre os êxitos de suas temporadas destacaram-se A
Samaritana, de Rostand, e a Comédia O Dote, de Arthur Azevedo,
também representada em italiano e levada a vários paises
da Europa e do Novo Mundo. Eleonora Duse, "la piu grande attrice
del Mondo", que já havia se apresentado no Brasil em 1885,
retornou em 1907. Lyda Borelli, então primeira atriz da Companhia
Teatral Italiana Ruggero Ruggeri, veio com o célebre ator em 1909,
apresentando-se nos teatros São Pedro de Alcantara do Rio de Janeiro
e Santana de São Paulo entre 31 de maio e 8 de agosto. Criada por
ela ante o público carioca a 17 de junho, Salome, de Oscar Wilde,
foi uma de suas marcantes e lembradas interpretações.

made long trips to South America. Clara Della Guardia, a greatly renouned
actress and mistress of a vast repertoire, performed in Brazil in 1899,
1901, 1903, 1909 and 1912, and presented works by Coelho Netto and Arthur
de Azevedo, in Italian, as well as productions by Sardou, Dumas son, Rostand
and by other French writers. Tina de Lorenzo, na actress of extraordinary
beauty and distinguished international career, played in Brazil in 1906;
1908 and 1913, always accompanied by her husband, the actor Armando Falconi
(1871-1954). Among the hits of the season we can include La Samaritaine,
by Rostand, and Arthur de Azevedo' s comedy The Dowry, also played in
Italian and staged in several countries in Europe and in the New World.
Eleonora Duse "la piu grande attrice del Mondo", who had already
performed in Brazil in 1885, returned in 1907. Lyda Borelli, at the time
the first actress of Ruggero Ruggeri's Italian Theatrical Company, came
with the famours actor in 1909, playing at the São Pedro de Alcantara
Theatre in Rio de Janeiro and at the Santana in São Paulo between
May 31 and August 8. As created by her for the audience in Rio, on june
17 Salome, by Oscar Wilde, was one of her remarkable and well remembered
interpretations. |
